2011 Southeast Region Winner: Teresa Chambers

Teresa and her husband, Judd, operate Chambers' Dairy in Macon, Georgia. In addition to their cattle, the family also raises hay, sorghum and rye grass. Teresa was nominated by a friend.

Teresa's Nomination: Teresa is the mother of three boys (two in middle school and one in high school) and is very active in their lives. She attends the football games and track meets in which they are involved. She also supports the academic achievements of her boys, and it is such a joy to watch as she shares their accomplishments.

Teresa works on one of the last operating dairy farms in Jones County, Georgia, with her husband, Judd. She works daily with her husband in all the work and production at the dairy. One of her passions is tending the calves from birth until they are ready to be released with the regular herd. 

Teresa is chair of the Women's Committee of the Jones County Farm Bureau. She is also active in Ag in the Classroom, taking time to share ag with elementray school children. On "World School Milk Day," she dresses as a dairy cow and shares information on milk and dairy with the kids. She is always willing to be involvved with ag events at schools and the "Mini Farm Day" at the county Pre-K, where she brings one of her calves for the kids to pet. She welcomes and encourges field trips to the dairy farm for a first-hand experience for children and teens to see a working dairy.

Teresa is very active in all of the events sponsored by Jones County Farm Bureau. Her involvement in Farm Bureau with her husband was recognized when they were selected as the Georgia Farm Bureau Young Farmer of the Year in 2003. She is an avid photographer and won the state Young Farmer Photo Contest in 2010. She is also the pianist for the church her family attends. This remarkable young woman who balances home, farm and community is a wonderful candidate for "Farm Mom of the Year."
